Arthur Gait & Co opened its doors in Newport in 1927 — a different town, a different economy, the same straightforward idea: give local business owners honest numbers and advice they can act on.

We’ve stayed through the docks and the steel, the long boom and the lean years, and the shift to the modern service economy that followed. The town changed around us. What didn’t change was the relationship — a named accountant who knows your business and picks up the phone.

More than an external accountant, Ali acts as a trusted financial partner, delivering tailored insights that build resilience and maximize profitability for every client he works with.

Client Manager
Cameron is a Chartered Certified Accountant with over four decades of experience in UK and international accounting. He qualified with ACCA in 1993, achieving the highest global exam result in the final taxation paper. Cameron specialises in complex tax matters, structural issues and technical interpretation of legislation, advising sole traders, companies, charities, trusts and international clients. He is known for his technical judgement, and commitment to the highest professional standards.

Andrew

Client Manager
Andrew is an accountancy and finance graduate, a Business Finance Professional and a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He handles accountancy and related tax issues and has extensive experience dealing with national governing bodies, charities and not-for-profit organisations. He has held the post of Honorary Treasurer of the South Wales Society of Chartered Accountants for over 17 years, was the former Chair of the Offa Group, an accountancy training organisation, and has acted as a Charity Trustee and as an officer of various non-profit organisations in a personal capacity for over 40 years.
